The approval plan will strongly promote the construction of Qinghai pumped storage power station, and a pumped storage power station will be completed and put into operation in recent years, achieving zero breakthrough in pumped storage power station in Qinghai Province.
It is reported that the pumped storage power station is the most reliable, most economical, energy storage device with the longest life cycle and the largest capacity in the power system. Economic operation and effective protection of new energy power consumption are of great significance to promoting energy structure adjustment and promoting high-quality and sustainable development of the power system.
In September 2021, 11 pumped-storage power station projects in Qinghai Province were included in the national "14th Five-Year" key project implementation plan, with a total installed capacity of 18.7 million kilowatts.
Among them, there are 10 pumping and storage sites in Warang, Nanshankou, Gonghe, Tongde, Longyangxia Energy Storage (Phase I), Maqin, Dachaidan, Dachaidan Yuka, Delingha, and Golmud Nalangele in Qinghai Province Included in the national "14th Five-Year" pumped storage approval plan, the total installed capacity of the project is 17.9 million kilowatts.
These projects will meet the needs of new power system construction and large-scale and high-proportion new energy development, helping to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
Previously, in order to do a good job in the planning and selection of pumped-storage power stations, the Qinghai Provincial Energy Bureau actively coordinated with relevant units, comprehensively considered boundary conditions such as ecological red lines and power grid demands, and scientifically and rationally determined recommended sites.
Among them, 10 power station construction projects have been included in the national approval plan. For the province to implement the major requirements for the construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases in the country, build a second clean energy UHV transmission channel, focusing on the Gobi, desert and desert, and adhere to the main river basins. It is of great significance to integrate the planning and development of renewable energy, build large-scale scenery bases in Haixi and Hainan, and help the country achieve the dual-carbon goal.
