The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, President of the World Government Summit Foundation, Muhammad Al-Gergawi, and the Minister of Planning and Economic Development in Egypt, Hala Al-Saeed, signed a memorandum of understanding to extend the strategic partnership between the governments of the UAE and Egypt in the field of government modernization, as part of the activities of the World Government Summit 2022.

The signing of the agreement comes to build on the strategic partnership in government modernization that the two governments launched as part of the World Government Summit in 2018.

Al Gergawi stressed that strengthening the partnership agreement reflects the common visions of the leadership of the two countries in crystallizing a common and inspiring Arab model for cooperation in government modernization aimed at enhancing the lives of societies and raising levels of government administration and efficiency.

He said that the strategic partnership agreement between the UAE and Egypt in government modernization constitutes a new addition to the record of distinguished historical relations that unite the two countries, and translates their common visions through the exchange of experiences and inspiring experiences, and effective cooperation to find innovative solutions to enhance government work, and to develop best practices in the areas of outstanding performance and innovation. and other fields.

For her part, Al-Saeed said that the positive results achieved under the umbrella of the strategic partnership agreement in government modernization signed between the two countries in 2018 were an incentive to strengthen the partnership with the aim of creating an inspiring Arab model for constructive cooperation in the field of government work.

She added that the Egyptian government seeks to spread the culture and thought of institutional excellence in the state's administrative apparatus, and to enhance competitive performance, innovation and sustainable development, whether for capabilities or services, and such agreements help to achieve this goal.

The agreement includes four strategic axes: government excellence, economy, government services, and capacity building.

The partnership in government modernization between the UAE and Egypt witnessed the achievement of many important achievements and stations, most notably the holding of the first and second editions of the Egypt Conference for Government Excellence with wide Emirati participation, the launch of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, and the launch of the Egypt Award for Government Services Applications for University Students.
