There are a total of nine stores in Eskilstuna that serve food where the best before date has begun to approach.

But many of the stores can not donate as much as people have started bunkering since the war in Ukraine broke out.

- You have to try to find other ways and that is why we go out with a call to the public, the help would mean a lot to us, says Carina Helmisdotter.

Higher pressure

But the biggest reason why there is a shortage of food and space on many shelves at Matlaget is that more families with children seek help.

A year ago, they helped 54 children a week, now they have about 120 children.

- It is a tragic development but we are making this effort so that we can help more people.

When people come from Ukraine and when they establish themselves, they will also need our help.
