Interest in buying holiday homes has increased sharply in recent years.

In the country, average prices have increased by just over 50 percent in five years, in Jämtland as much as 108 percent.

This is shown by figures from Swedish real estate statistics compiled by Fastighetsbyrån.

In Västerbotten, Robertsfors stands out.

Here, prices have risen by 78 percent compared to prices five years ago.

- Now I'm speculating, but it could be Northvolte effect.

We also see in ordinary houses that the Skellefteå region is rising sharply, says Eva Holmgren real estate agent at Fastighetsbyrån in Umeå.

It is unclear how the war will affect prices going forward

If you look at the development of the past year, prices have risen the most in Skellefteå in particular - by 24 percent.

Brokers have previously talked about a pandemic effect, but since the restrictions were released, interest in trips abroad has also increased.

At the same time, there is uncertainty about how the war in Ukraine will affect the market.

- We will see if subdued pandemic, high electricity prices and the war in Ukraine have a cooling effect, says Johan Engström, CEO of Fastighetsbyrån, in a press release.
