Poll: Trump would beat Biden if the presidential elections were held now

A new opinion poll revealed that if the US presidential elections were held today, former President Donald Trump would beat incumbent President Joe Biden.

According to the poll conducted by the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University, if the presidential elections of 2024 were held at the present time, Trump would have 47% support, compared to 41% for Biden, and 12% of respondents were hesitant.

He stated that Vice President Kamala Harris' situation is "much worse", with 49% of respondents saying they would choose Trump, and 38% saying they would support Harris if she was a presidential candidate.

And he indicated that even if Trump and Biden choose not to run in 2024, Democrats may face some challenges, noting that Harris is ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the current favorite to be nominated by the Republican Party for the presidency in 2024, by a small margin of two points (40% to 38 %).

The poll also found that the current approval of Biden's performance stands at 39%, while the majority of respondents said that both the US economy and the country as a whole are on the wrong track.
