The report has been published on the county administrative boards' sites and throughout Sweden there are just over 74,000 temporary accommodation places.

They are divided into whether they are suitable for a shorter time or up to a year.

On Gotland, there are 1,224 short-term places and 2,054 long-term places.

In Östergötland, there are 1,183 short-term places and 1,004 long-term places.

To be used when needed

The inventory contains a list of apartments, schools, sports halls, campsites, holiday villages, holiday resorts, hostels, modular accommodation and warehouses.

These can now be used by the Swedish Migration Agency as temporary accommodation if necessary.

- I want to emphasize that this is an inventory that the county administrative boards have compiled.

At present, it is not possible to answer whether all the places will need to be used.

It is the Swedish Migration Agency that decides when and how many of these accommodation places they need, and then they contact the relevant actor, says Abigail Choate, chief operating officer of the county administrative boards' national coordination office and defense director at the Stockholm County Administrative Board.
