From this weekend onwards, the “Caution Team” will only rule in Hamburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

In all other 14 federal states, the masks and other corona rules will fall after April 2nd.

In most state governments, whether black, red or green, the imploring appeals of the SPD Federal Minister of Health to apply the "hotspot" regulation in the new Infection Protection Act across the board in view of the dramatically high incidences went unheeded.

They cannot be blamed for the fact that most countries did not listen to Lauterbach's advice.

The criteria for defining a “hotspot” flooded by corona cases in the law drafted by the FDP are too vague.

Lower Saxony in particular, with its experiences in court with sloppily formulated corona regulations, did not feel like stepping onto legally thin ice again.

Conversely, the FDP and its Minister of Justice showed no inclination to improve a federal law just to extend preventive corona measures.

So it will now come to the liberal large-scale experiment on living objects: Are the individual responsibility and reason of the citizens just as strong as state coercion?

Elsewhere in Europe, high vaccination rates have made freedom possible, especially in the most vulnerable population groups.

This requirement is still missing in Germany.
