It is reported that Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the transition committee, who has been mentioned as a strong candidate for the new government's first prime minister, met with President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol and said that he had no intention of taking over as prime minister.

Chairman Ahn is expected to express his position regarding his whereabouts through a press conference today (30th).

An official from Yoon-elect's side said in a media call yesterday, "Chairman Ahn had a private conversation with Yoon-elect at around 5:30 pm yesterday for about 30 minutes."

It is known that Chairman Ahn announced that he would focus on his transition committee work at this meeting.

He was the first to draw the line when some recently speculated that he could be nominated for prime minister.

Chairman Ahn has been mentioned as the 'zero priority for prime minister' after unifying with Yoon-elect at the end of the presidential election.

It is reported that Chairman Ahn plans to challenge the power of the people rather than the prime minister with the challenge of the presidency in mind five years later.

He is even invited to run for governor of Gyeonggi Province.

An official from Ahn's side said, "Some reports that the AhnLab stock trust has been decided are not true."

On the other hand, it is reported that President-elect Yoon received a report on the number of candidates for the prime minister from Jang Je-won, who was recently elected chief of staff, and selected five times the number of candidates and started personnel verification.

A key official said in a phone call, "President-elect Yoon will appoint a person with years of experience, experience and expertise to lead the new government's economic and security team."

The nominees for the first prime minister are expected to be revealed as early as next week.
