A large police force had been deployed on Saturday evening in the city of Beaudottes in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis) for fear of violence.
A few hours earlier, a man driving a stolen van was fatally shot by a police officer from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) of Aulnay-sous-Bois, a neighboring town.
A quieter second part of the night
The situation began to escalate around 7 p.m.
The police then came under firework mortars.
Three people were arrested in a car on rue Dumont-d'Urville.
The driver is suspected of having thrown projectiles at police officers, the two passengers are accused of rebellion.
The rest of the night was punctuated with violence: trash fires, burnt cars, mortar fire and projectile throwing.
Around 9 p.m., the police officers of a CRS and the canine brigade of Val-de-Marne were targeted by various projectiles by around thirty individuals armed with sticks and iron bars.
At the end of the night, the situation returned to calm.
The firefighters, also present on the spot, were not taken to task.
