Russian media regulators have warned their media not to interview Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to Reuters, 'Roskomnadzor', the Russian communications, information technology and media supervisory authority, announced that it had launched an investigation into the local media that interviewed President Zelensky on the 27th local time.

"A number of Russian media have interviewed President Zelensky," Roskomnadzor said in a statement, warning that "we need to refrain from reporting this interview."

On that day, Rothkomnadzor also blocked access to the website of Germany's largest tabloid media, Bild.

The Russian government and parliament recently amended the Criminal Code to provide for up to 15 years in prison for spreading false information about Russian military activities.
