The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai has identified three cases of private schools in the emirate continuing to provide distance learning.

The new standards stressed the need for physical distancing, to continue sterilization procedures on a regular basis, for health and safety officials to continue to follow up on contact cases, and to adhere to safety standards issued by the relevant authorities in the Dubai government, and contacts with symptoms that show symptoms cannot return to school work until after the symptoms disappear Students or educational staff who are confirmed to be infected with the “Corona” virus must adhere to the home quarantine for a period of 10 days.

The authority pointed out that the updated health and safety standards apply to all schools, early childhood centers and private higher education institutions in Dubai, noting that what reassures students' families of their children is that health and safety standards are still wide-ranging, as they include physical distancing and wearing masks indoors. And sterilization on a regular basis, along with other procedures, in addition to that all educational institutions in the emirate continue to follow safety standards from the relevant government agencies, such as the Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Health Authority.

The authority indicated that there are no longer restrictions on the number of children under the age of six in fixed groups in schools and early childhood centers.

On the other hand, school students will begin their spring break after completing the second semester exams, on March 29 and ending on April 15, for all public and private schools that follow the curriculum of the Ministry of Education.

According to the academic calendar 2021/2022, the end of the current academic year vacation should not exceed 8.2 weeks, and the summer calendar 2022 summer vacation includes all public and private schools, regardless of the curriculum.

The school calendar also clarified that the number of school days is 186 days for all public and private schools that follow the curriculum of the Ministry of Education.

Enrollment rate increase  

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai reported that private schools in the emirate recorded an increase in the enrollment rates of their students by 3.5% this academic year, according to the authority's periodic publication on private education in the emirate.

Dubai is home to 215 private schools, which receive 289,019 male and female students, belonging to 185 nationalities and cultures, who receive their education through 17 diverse educational curricula.
