For several months now, Moroccan consumers have been witnessing a general increase in prices: food products, transport, fuel, everything is increasing.

Most Moroccan households are in great difficulty and discontent and concern are felt more and more, especially a few days before the Ramadan period.

Despite the difficulties announced with the Ukrainian crisis, gas tariffs and the price of bread remain subsidized and exceptional support has just been launched for public and road transport professionals.

Economists want to be reassuring.

Morocco holds a strategic stock for a period of 6 months for raw materials which is renewed daily.

"Even if this year we had a period of drought, we must not forget that last year we had an overproduction of 105 million quintals of wheat, part of which was stored and which will be used precisely this year. For Morocco, there is therefore no problem of a food crisis, since in fact we have strategic stocks which are very very important, we also have sources of supply with which Morocco has had contracts for a long time and which are loyal. So there is a contractual relationship with these different countries, precisely to supply Morocco and keep our strategic stock for 6 months", explains Taib Aisse, an economics expert.

With diversified sources of supply from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the United States and the announcement of an aid and support policy, Morocco hopes to cope well with the crisis.
