As a taxi driver and haulier, Dany states that the requirement is that he refuel with environmentally friendly fuel, HVO-100.

It has cost at most about SEK 32 a liter.

Diesel prices peaked on March 9 with SEK 28 per liter.

On the same day, the petrol crossed the SEK 23 limit.

- But prices were high even before the war in Ukraine.

And people also take smaller taxis, he says.

Insufficient

Last week, the government presented a package of measures.

The price of petrol and diesel will be reduced by SEK 1.30 per liter from 1 June to 31 October, in addition, the fuel tax will be reduced by 50 öre from May.

But that is not enough, says Dany.

- I do not think it matters that much.

It's like getting a headache pill, it does not help for long, says Dany.

The Swedish Taxi Association, which represents Sweden's taxi companies, believes that the reduction will come far too late and that it should be introduced retroactively from 1 April to apply for at least the rest of the year.

For the country's taxi companies, it is about being able to continue to drive socially important transports such as transport services, medical travel and school transport and contribute to the green transition, the union believes.
