From zipline, "sky ladder" to "Four Good Rural Roads", rural roads have changed their old appearance in ten years——

"Sheep intestines" are no more, "Kangzhuang Road" is rolled out, and "Happiness Dream" is embraced

[The people's livelihood that the general secretary cares about ②·First-line narrative]

Editor's note

During the National People's Congress this year, Yeshi Dawa, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, showed two photos to General Secretary Xi Jinping - a comparison of the "Cliff Village" in Zhaojue County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province before and after poverty alleviation.

Driven by the care of the party and the government, in recent years, the villagers living in this ancient and dangerous place have finally bid farewell to the "difficulty in travel" - the 17-section "vine ladder" made of rattan and wooden sticks disappeared, and more than 6,000 A solid "steel ladder" composed of a steel pipe connects the top and bottom of the mountain, leading to a better new life.

The contrast between the present and the past of the "cliff village" is a microcosm of the great changes in China's mountains and villages in the past ten years.

The road is a major event related to the daily travel of rural residents and getting rid of poverty and becoming rich. The General Secretary has always been here.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the general secretary has given important instructions many times, requiring the construction, management, protection and operation of rural roads, and emphasized that "especially in some poverty-stricken areas, change a zipline and repair a section of highway. It can open a door for the masses to get rid of poverty and become rich.”

How is the construction of the "Four Good Rural Roads" today, and what convenience, beauty and hope has it brought to the people?

We invite villagers, builders, and grass-roots cadres to tell the stories of these "roads to wealth" and "roads to happiness", and share the gratifying achievements of rural development.

The moat turns into a channel, and happiness rolls in

Narrator: Nie Shanwen, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Hunan Expressway Group Zhuzhou Branch

Xiangxi is located in the hinterland of the Wuling Mountains, with deep valleys and steep ridges. It has been difficult to travel since ancient times, and it is even more difficult to build roads.

In 1997, I drove for the first time on the Panshan Highway in Aizhai, Jishou City.

The whole road is steep and steep, and the thirteen "Z"-shaped turns are shocking. It took 40 minutes for the car to climb up the hill from the foot of the mountain.

Standing on the top of the Aizhai slope, the Dehang Grand Canyon with a width of more than 1,000 meters is like a moat, giving people a sense of isolation from the world.

In March 2012, the ancient Miao Village finally ushered in the long-awaited day - the Aizhai Bridge flew up on the top of the two mountains, and a bridge connected both sides of the canyon, realizing the traffic "from 30 minutes to one minute". Leaping, but also pressing the "fast-forward button" for poverty alleviation in ethnic areas.

On November 3, 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected the Aizhai Bridge.

He emphasized that in order to get rid of poverty and become prosperous in poor areas, it is very important to improve infrastructure conditions such as transportation. In this regard, we must increase efforts and continue to support.

Since then, the traffic development of Aizhai has continued to accelerate, and the once "shortcoming" of traffic has become the "potential board" of a happy life.

As the manager of the bridge, I always keep in mind the affectionate entrustment of the general secretary, and make "protecting and managing the Aizhai Bridge well" as the top priority of my work.

After the Aizhai Bridge was completed and opened to traffic, it soon became a major attraction.

The transportation department and the local government jointly explored the "transportation + tourism + poverty alleviation" model, and built a tourist attraction with the Aizhai Bridge as the core, forming the golden tourist belt of "Zhangjiajie-Aizhai Bridge-Phoenix", connecting the "century-old road and bridge wonders" , Millennium Miao Village style, Wannian canyon scenery", the surrounding villages have also begun to actively develop new models of agricultural tourism cooperation.

Last year, when I returned to Xiangxi, I dined at the "Miaojia Longfeng Restaurant" 500 meters away from the Aizhai Toll Station, and chatted with the owner of the restaurant.

The peasant brother said emotionally: "There are more tourists, so of course business is booming." Paixiong Village, Aizhai Town, where he is located, has developed 108 farmhouses and 47 farmhouses based on the Aizhai Bridge Scenic Spot, driving more than 400 local people. Employment nearby.

The family of 9 members of Long Xiucheng in the nearby Jidou Village turned out to be the poorest registered poor household in the village.

Now, he is in charge of the sanitation management of the Aizhai Bridge Scenic Spot, and his daughter-in-law runs a farmhouse, receiving more than 1,000 tourists a year, and the family's annual income exceeds 100,000 yuan.

People in western Hunan love Aizhai Bridge, which has become a new business card in western Hunan and even Hunan.

Bathed in the spring breeze of reform and development, the bridge has turned into a thoroughfare, and it has also brought us happiness and joy.

On the grassland, the "Golden Avenue" is getting wider and wider

Narrator: Wu Yunbo, Secretary of the Party Branch of Bayantala Sumudong Salagacha, Zalut Banner, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

"The sky is bright, the wild is vast, and the wind blows the grass and sees cattle and sheep." The scenes depicted in the folk songs can often be seen in my hometown of Dongsala Gacha ("Gacha" means "administrative village" in Mongolian).

In recent years, the ecologically beautiful hometown has become more and more dynamic, and a "Golden Avenue" has developed to lead to common prosperity, and all this is inseparable from the road under our feet.

The vast grassland road was not easy to walk before.

Every time I went to Qili more than 20 years ago, I had to take a four-wheel tractor for farming and bumped along the road for a whole day.

Now, with smooth roads extending in all directions, people's travel time is greatly shortened, and the experience on the road is much better.

On March 5, 2019, when General Secretary Xi Jinping participated in the deliberation of the Inner Mongolia delegation at the National Two Sessions, I extended an invitation to the General Secretary to welcome him to our Gacha.

The general secretary kindly asked me: "How do I get to your Gacha Road?" It was because the transportation in my hometown became more convenient that I had the confidence to say: "You can take a plane to our Tongliao Airport, and we will drive to pick you up. It's a good way to go now."

In the past, when a distinguished guest came to his hometown, the common people would ride horses and hold hada to greet them.

Now that our living standards have improved, and the roads are smooth and spacious, we can drive to greet guests from afar.

If you want to be rich, build roads first.

Only by "connecting every village" can the "last mile" to get rid of poverty and become rich can be opened up.

Our Malaqin Aili (Mongolian "herdsman's home") professional cattle-raising cooperative is a poverty alleviation industry developed in the context of rural revitalization, and has now achieved an integrated development from production to sales.

The products of the cooperative can be distributed all over the country, and it is inseparable from the smooth logistics.

At first, after the beef was processed, cooperative members had to figure out how to get the beef out.

Now, we are cooperating with China Post, a comprehensive convenience service station has been established in Gacha, and the "Post Express Cooperation" model has been introduced, which has opened up the express transportation channels for the cooperatives and the common people.

With the development of e-commerce, we have started to promote meat products on the live broadcast platform, and we have accumulated a lot of fans.

During the National Two Sessions in 2021, I will use the live broadcast platform to solicit suggestions from netizens and bring them to the meeting, so that more people's voices and demands will be taken seriously.

The road is open, the heart is more open.

The convenient transportation not only improves the lives of the villagers, but also broadens everyone's horizons.

Farmers and herdsmen are more and more out of the grasslands, have more and more extensive access to massive amounts of information, and have a deeper understanding and a stronger sense of identity with the overall leadership of the party and the concept of the Chinese national community.

Now, when I visit the homes of farmers and herdsmen, I can always feel the sincere gratitude of the people in my hometown to the party and the country, and the deep love for the general secretary.

The road in my hometown is getting wider and wider, and the life of the common people is getting better and better.

The hearts of the people in Dongsala Gacha are always oriented towards the Party and Beijing.

Guarding the "lifeline" of the Dulong River

Narrator: Long Jianping, Director of the Highway Management Office of Dulongjiang Township, Gongshan County, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province

I am a young man of the Dulong ethnic group who grew up in the Dilan Group of Xianjiudang Village, Dulongjiang Township, Gongshan County.

Since I was a child, the traffic jam of the Dulong River has made me unforgettable.

At that time, there was no road between my family and the township government, so I had to walk all day.

Although the Dulongjiang Highway leading to the county town was opened to traffic in 1999, the Gaoligongshan Tunnel has not yet been built.

When I went to middle school in the county town 20 years ago, every time I went to school, I had to walk with my classmates for five days, carrying food, pots and pans, cooking on the roadside stove, and pitching tents with plastic sheets to sleep in the open.

Every year when the mountains are covered by heavy snow, the village can't pass the car for almost half a year.

In 2014, the Dulongjiang Highway Tunnel in Gaoligong Mountain was finally completed and opened to traffic.

Since then, it only takes 3 hours to get to the county seat by car, and the Dulong River is closer to the outside world.

In 2017, I served as the director of the Dulongjiang Township Highway Management Office. Together with my colleagues, I managed and protected the 33-kilometer-long section of the Dulongjiang Highway from the township government to the Gaoligongshan Tunnel.

The Dulong River has rainy season for 9 months a year, and mudslides and landslides often occur, making road maintenance particularly difficult.

On May 25, 2020, Dulongjiang Township suffered a devastating mudslide disaster. More than 200 sections of the Dulongjiang Highway were washed away, and traffic was interrupted for 9 days.

We stayed on the mountain day and night, surveyed and constructed risks, cooperated with the township party committee and government to organize efforts to repair the road, and the highway departments of Nujiang Prefecture, Dali and Baoshan also came to support.

After day and night of fighting, the road was finally cleared.

After this emergency repair, the road has been effectively reinforced, and all guardrails have been installed along the route, making driving safer.

Every winter and spring, the Dulongjiang Highway is always in danger of being blocked by avalanches and heavy snow, and the task of securing the road is very heavy.

Since January 20 this year, the snow has fallen heavily on Gaoligong Mountain, and the roads on both sides of the tunnel have been blocked by heavy snow.

For more than a month, we have driven the loader to shovel snow every morning, clearing the way for passing vehicles, ensuring the smooth flow of the Dulongjiang Highway at all times, transporting a steady stream of materials and bringing hope of rural revitalization.

Although it is very hard work, I feel very proud to be able to protect the "lifeline" of this Dulong River.

Last year, I was elected as the representative of the 11th Yunnan Provincial Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the responsibilities on my shoulders were even heavier.

General Secretary Xi Jinping has always cared about Dulongjiang.

I still remember that on the eve of New Year's Day in 2014, the cadres and masses of Gongshan County sent a letter to the general secretary, reporting the good news that the Dulongjiang highway tunnel in Gaoligong Mountain was about to be completed, and the general secretary made important instructions.

In 2019, the general secretary replied to the people of Dulongjiang again, which gave us great encouragement and encouragement.

"Poverty alleviation is only the first step, and better days are yet to come." The words of the general secretary spoke to our hearts, and we were full of gratitude and excitement.

I have been guarding the Dulongjiang Highway for many years, and I have witnessed the great changes this road has brought to my hometown—all kinds of materials have been pulled into the Dulongjiang River, improving the infrastructure of the township; life has improved, and the thatched houses of every household have become brick houses; because of the convenience of transportation, cash crops such as grass, fruits and morel mushrooms can be transported to all parts of the country, and the income of the villagers has increased; the ideas of the people have also changed significantly, and online shopping on mobile phones has become more common...

The dirt road was smoothed out

Narrator: Li Kai, First Secretary of Sanhe Village, Zhaojue County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province

When spring comes to bloom again, Sanhe Village is covered with new green, and everywhere is full of vitality.

Under the warm sun, if you come to Sanhe Village, which is located in the hinterland of Daliang Mountain, you will stop looking at the low and dilapidated adobe houses, enter the new dwellings with the characteristics of the Yi people, and then go to the Village History Museum to hear the story of the changes of Sanhe Village. Sigh: This is really a great change of "one step across the millennium".

Many friends who came to Liangshan and Sanhe Village for the first time may not realize that the most intuitive change is actually under their feet.

Asphalt roads lead directly to the door of every household, which was something that was unthinkable a few years ago.

On the eve of the Spring Festival in 2018, when the general secretary came to Sanhe Village for inspection, he was still walking on a rugged mud road.

In recent years, with the help of the national "Four Good Rural Roads", Sanhe Village has not only built a 9.6-kilometer asphalt road leading to the village, but also built a 28.5-kilometer road leading to households.

The "aorta" has been opened up, and the "microcirculation" has also been improved. The common people say that it is too convenient to travel now.

Today, the mud road that the general secretary walked through has become flat, and the adobe house that can only be leaned into has become a bright and spacious new house.

The villagers always bear in mind the general secretary's concern. They painted slogans such as "General Secretary Xi Kashasha (thank you)" and "Wajwa (very good)" on the outer wall of the new residence, which are very eye-catching.

The villager Ji Hao also often recalled the scene when the general secretary came to his house in front of tourists: "When the general secretary came, he walked on a mountain path, one foot deep and one foot shallow, and he will never have to walk that way again."

The road has been repaired, high-quality varieties such as Simmental cattle have been introduced, and characteristic agricultural products such as potatoes and Chinese prickly ash have been released smoothly.

In 2021, the per capita income of poverty alleviation households in the village will reach 13,678 yuan.

The days are better and the people are more motivated.

This year, we have expanded the planting area of potatoes, ginger and Achyranthes chinensis, a Chinese medicinal herb, and everyone is full of confidence in rural revitalization.

The horizons are opened, and the development ideas are also broadened.

Seeing more and more tourists, the villagers strongly demanded the development of the rural tourism industry.

In accordance with the overall plan of Zhaojue County, we have formulated a "five-ring" plan to promote tourism development: the red education circle tells the story of poverty alleviation; build a trail from the old site to the new village to "cross the road", so that tourists can feel the impact of poverty alleviation. Great changes; the Sanhe Sports Circle connects the relocation and resettlement sites of Sanhe Village in series, making it an excellent venue for alpine cycling and marathon races; a 21-kilometer mountain road connects Sanhe Village and Jiefanggou Town, Zhaojue County. Pu Village, forming a patriotic education route; connecting the ten thousand mu of strawberry orchards, rose gardens, blueberry and raspberry plantations in Sanchahe Town, as well as Gukede Wetland Park and Boshwa Black Rock Art, to create Zhaojue Ecological Tourism Area.

Now, the Xizhao Expressway is under construction. After it is completed and opened to traffic, it will only take half an hour to drive from Xichang, the capital of Liangshan Prefecture, to Sanhe Village. The villagers are looking forward to that day.

At that time, our "five-ring" plan will be more perfect, and Sanhe Village will surely usher in a new spring of integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism industries.
