At the beginning of the year, the chairman of the Swedish Farmers' Association (LRF) in Dalarna, Anita Boman Daniels, stated that the farmers were then in the most serious crisis she had experienced.

Now that the war has broken out in Ukraine and several costs have increased further, the situation is even worse and there is great concern among farmers in the county.

- If we said it was a crisis then it is a disaster now.

It is estimated how much higher costs agriculture has and now it commutes between 7.5 and 8 billion, depending on how high the oil price is, so it is very, very bad, says Boman Daniels.

She continues:

- I have sat and called around to several of our local departments and it is a huge concern and concern.

More support is needed

The farmers received financial support in connection with the pandemic and in the government's spring change budget SEK 1 billion is set aside to support agriculture and forestry as the price of diesel, electricity and fertilizer has skyrocketed, which has affected Swedish farmers a lot.

Anita Boman Daniels believes that more support is needed if you want to see continued food production in Sweden.

- We must be able to take part in a larger part of the price increase for food that is made to consumers in order for this to work, she says.

In the clip: "Will see agriculture closing down" - Anita Boman Daniels talks about how several crises in a row affect farmers and who are affected hardens.
