Today, Friday, King Abdullah II of Jordan will meet in Aqaba, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi.

The official "Al-Mamlaka" channel reported that the Jordanian king is holding a "consultative meeting" with Mohammed bin Zayed, Al-Sisi and Al-Kazemi in Aqaba (325 km south of Amman) on the Red Sea.

The meeting comes ahead of a tour that will begin tomorrow, Saturday, by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in the region, including Israel, the West Bank, Morocco and Algeria.

It also comes a few days after a tripartite meeting that brought together Sisi and Mohamed bin Zayed with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The meeting coincides with the launch of a new round of the "security obstacle" meeting initiative for the fifth time, to discuss addressing the emerging threats of terrorism.

The meetings, which will last for several days, will be attended by the heads of state of Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique, the Prime Minister of Tanzania, representatives of security and military institutions from African, European, East Asian and American countries, and the United States, in addition to representatives of the Global Internet Forum to Combat Terrorism.

It is noteworthy that the King of Jordan launched the "Aqaba Meetings" in 2015 to maintain coordination and enhance cooperation between various regional and international parties, to combat terrorism "according to a holistic approach, and to discuss security challenges in a number of regions of the world."
