Moscow: Russian forces take control of the Ukrainian city of Izyum

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in Moscow that Russian forces had "completely taken control" of the town of Izyum in eastern Ukraine early Thursday, and there was no confirmation on this from the Ukrainian side.

The Ukrainian navy said it destroyed a Russian ship in the Black Sea and there is no sign of the conflict subsiding, a month after the invasion began.

It is noteworthy that the town, located in eastern Ukraine, has been under siege for days.

According to the Defense Ministry in Moscow, more than 60 Ukrainian military installations were attacked during the night.

 The ministry said that 202 Ukrainian missile defense systems, 257 drones and more than 1,500 tanks and armored vehicles have been destroyed since the war began a month ago.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army said today that Russia is intensifying its air attacks, as more than 250 air attacks have been recorded during the past 24 hours.

The Ukrainian side said that this number is more than 60 attacks compared to the previous day.

The aircraft mainly target areas in and around Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv.

The Ukrainian army said that 11 "enemy air targets" were targeted on Wednesday, including seven aircraft, a helicopter, a drone and two cruise missiles.



The Ukrainian army indicated that Russian forces in occupied areas such as Kherson are using "terror" methods against the population protesting against the occupation, and are deploying Russian National Guard forces to prevent protests.

The Ukrainian police said on the Telegram application today that since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine a month ago, 294 civilians, including 15 children, have died in the northeastern city of Kharkiv.

 The police added that citizens rarely leave the shelters they are sheltering in from attacks, and fires break out in residential buildings, schools, hospitals and facilities.

The Ukrainian Navy said a Russian landing ship had been destroyed, Ukraine's Independent Information Agency reported.

It is reported that the ship belongs to the Black Sea Fleet.

The newspaper Ukrainska Pravda published pictures on its website showing the flames rising for meters and huge plumes of smoke.

The British Ministry of Defense said today, Thursday, that according to what British intelligence reported, the Russian forces suffered huge casualties in the war on Ukraine, which prompted them to search for reinforcements.

"It is almost certain that Russian forces suffered thousands of casualties during their invasion of Ukraine," the ministry wrote in a tweet.
