China News Agency, Beijing, March 24 (Reporter Li Xiaoyu) In response to the continued exemption of tariffs imposed by the United States on some Chinese goods exported to the United States, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Shu Jueting, said on the 24th that she hopes that the United States will cancel all additional tariffs on China as soon as possible. .

The Office of the United States Trade Representative announced on the 23rd local time that it will continue to implement the exemption policy for 352 Chinese products exported to the United States that were exempted from additional tariffs during the Trump administration, but the exemptions have expired.

These products include industrial components such as pumps and motors, some auto parts and chemicals, and consumer products such as backpacks, bicycles, and vacuum cleaners.

In this regard, Shu Jueting said at a press conference on the same day that the US move will help the normal trade of related products.

She said that the unilateral U.S. imposition of tariffs is not good for China, the United States, and the world.

In the current situation where inflation continues to rise and the global economic recovery is facing challenges, it is hoped that the U.S. side will proceed from the fundamental interests of consumers and producers in China and the United States, cancel all additional tariffs on China as soon as possible, and push bilateral economic and trade relations to return to the normal track as soon as possible.

During the administration of former US President Trump, according to the so-called "Section 301", that is, Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974, high tariffs were imposed on Chinese products worth hundreds of billions of dollars every year.

Since then, taking into account the supply chain situation and the burden on corporate consumers, the Trump administration has approved exemptions from additional tariffs on some products.
