Etisalat, the first official partner of the Expo 2020 Volunteer Program, and the partner of communications and digital services for Expo 2020 Dubai, is launching a campaign of thanks and appreciation to celebrate about 30,000 distinguished volunteers who contributed to the success of the global event and made it a tangible reality.

The campaign includes a special message from the Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of "Expo 2020 Dubai", Reem Al Hashemi, in appreciation of the volunteers' efforts and praise for them, in addition to a message from Etisalat and Dubai Police.

The campaign will also be launched on social media platforms, print media and billboards across the country.

About 30,000 volunteers from all over the Emirates, citizens and residents, participated in the largest volunteer program in the history of the country, to contribute to the first World Expo in the region, which received more than 21 million visitors, and 192 countries from around the world participated in it.

Reem Al Hashemi said: “The volunteers of (Expo Dubai) have influenced, inspired and breathed life into the international event.

We view each volunteer as a hero, embodying the core values ​​of the volunteer program of respect, commitment, integrity, knowledge and enthusiasm, and the UAE is proud of its success in bringing so many dedicated, accomplished and distinguished individuals together under the umbrella of this once-in-a-lifetime international event.”

Volunteering is a major component of the national agenda for the UAE Vision 2021, and the volunteers demonstrated the core values ​​of the Expo 2020 Volunteers Program over the six-month period of the international event.

In recognition of the importance of volunteering, Etisalat launched a promotional campaign in the run-up to and during the international event to encourage millions of its customers to participate in this programme.

An invitation was extended to each volunteer to attend the celebration on the occasion of the end of the volunteer activities the day after tomorrow, where they will be honored by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and Reem Al Hashemi.

Volunteer Sultan Al-Hassani said: “As one of the national service recruits who won the honor of participating in the exhibition as a volunteer, I thank all those in charge of the international event and the National and Reserve Service Authority, for providing this ideal opportunity for me and my fellow recruits, as we learned a lot in this international forum and gained many The skills that will add to the balance of our expertise.”

While volunteer Fatima Al-Shehhi said: “My participation in the Expo 2020 volunteer program was a wonderful experience, rich in various experiences. I got the opportunity to volunteer in one of the pavilions of the participating countries, and it was an ideal opportunity to learn about the culture and history of this country, in addition to making many friendships with the pavilion’s workers. and my fellow volunteers.” She added, “As an employee in the government sector in Dubai, I was able to benefit from my practical experience and employ it optimally during my volunteer period, and I certainly learned a lot from this experience and will transfer this knowledge to my work environment.”

During the event, the main partners in the program will be honored: Etisalat, Dubai Police, and National Service recruits.

The choir of the Ministry of Tolerance is scheduled to open the ceremony.
