A tragic base-jump accident occurred this Tuesday early evening in Isère.

A 34-year-old man died after being transported to Grenoble hospital in critical condition, reveals

This British national was with three friends.

The victim had just jumped from the Bournillon cliff when one of his comrades noticed that his parachute was not opening.

He immediately gave the alert.

An open investigation

Gendarmes from the high mountain peloton, Samu doctor and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

The 30-year-old was found in cardiac arrest, hanging by his sail from a cliff.

Cardiac massage was immediately given to him on the spot and during his transfer by helicopter to the hospital.

But despite the efforts of rescuers, the man did not survive.

An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
