The alarm about the fire came at 14 o'clock on Wednesday.
When they arrived, the rescue service was able to establish that it was a fully developed apartment fire.
- It was smoke divers who went in and found her inside the apartment, says Mikael Lundberg, internal commander at Medelpad's rescue service association, to TT.
At 15.30, the rescue service announced that the fire had been extinguished.
Preliminary investigation has been initiated
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but according to the police, there are things that indicate that it started in the apartment's kitchen.
A preliminary investigation into general negligence has been initiated.
No further person was injured in the fire.
The relatives of the deceased woman have been notified.
