It all started with Rebecca and her father taking a trip along the snowmobile trail at the ski resort in Kåbdalis when they saw the capercaillie coming into the forest.

- I have never seen a capercaillie game so close so we stopped and watched, she says.

The capercaillie rooster began to approach and Rebecca looked forward to close contact.

- The capercaillie was quite cocky and felt hormonal.

It wandered around and made a lot of noise.

"Picked and flapped his wings"

When Rebecca tried to get in close contact with the capercaillie rooster, she squatted down while her father took pictures.

- I love nature and all my encounters with wild animals, but I have never encountered a wild animal that is so fearless and cocky!

I did not feel scared but it is a big bird and I got respect.

It was a little scary when Dad asked me to let go of the bird with my eyes and look into the camera instead.

But the capercaillie thought that the meeting was probably so close.

- He pecked at me and flapped his wings.

I was amazed at how much power he had in his wings, it hurts to be beaten by a capercaillie.

Broke down my sister too

After Rebecca Gunnarstedt's adventure with the capercaillie, it was Sister Nadja's turn.

- Dad took her to the capercaillie so that she could also see it.

It is the film that you can see, but that was also how my meeting with the capercaillie went, says Rebecca Gunnarstedt.

The sisters are happy that they have immortalized the encounter with the capercaillie rooster.

- It was exciting.

We are used to being out in nature but not meeting wild animals so close.

In the clip, you see Nadja's islet walk with the game-crazy capercaillie rooster.
