At the pump, the government is already reducing its gasoline taxes by 5 cents per liter, starting Wednesday evening and for one year.

A measure which should reduce the cost of a full tank of petrol by some £3, around 5 euros, and will mainly benefit owners of large cars.

London has lowered its growth forecast to 3.8% and inflation could reach 7.4% this year.
