In an initiative that is the first of its kind in the region, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized the first desert rally for women under the name "Jamil Rally", with the participation of 34 teams, each team consisting of a female navigator and a female driver who drives a multi-use vehicle.

The exceptional event that took place off-road in Saudi Arabia depends on the skill of navigation and the use of the road manual, not speed, as the rally’s length reached about a thousand kilometers on desert roads, on a journey that departs from the city of Hail, then passes through Qassim, and finally, the capital, Riyadh, for a period of 4 days. Driving, in areas of sand dunes and diverse terrain contributes to the diversity of challenges.

After strong competitions between all the participating teams, the Swedish team "Sweden Challenge", which included the driver Ani Seal and her navigator Michaela Kotolinsky, achieved victory in their Toyota RAV. In the racing world spanning nearly 30 years.

As for the head of the rally’s organizing committee, Abdullah Bakhashab, he praised the great success achieved by the rally in its first edition, pointing to the brilliance shown by the participants in the race, which is the first navigational rally of its kind for women only in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab world.

Bakhashab considered that the great participation in the rally and the strong competition that emerged is the biggest proof of his success, as he attracted foreign drivers from 15 countries around the world such as the United States of America, Sweden, the UAE and others, along with about 21 female drivers from Saudi Arabia, "and most important of all, they all completed This race is safe, and I can't wait to organize the event next year and see them again in Saudi Arabia."

Organizing the Jameel Rally aims to encourage more women to actively participate in motorsports and rallying, which is in line with the basic directions of the Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes the necessity of empowering all members of society to participate in all fields.
