The Democratic Republic of the Congo celebrated its National Day at Expo Dubai yesterday, in the presence of its President, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Chilombo. The official ceremonies for raising the flags of the United Arab Emirates and the Congo were held in Al Wasl Square, with the national anthems of the two countries playing.

Visitors to the international event enjoyed a special cultural show, which included a group of songs, dances and rhythms derived from the common heritage of the African tribes that inhabit this "African jewel".

He added, “In terms of environmental challenges, our country, with its tropical forests in the Congo Basin and its vast reserves of fresh water, remains a country focused on solutions in the fight against climate change.

Congo is also full of many natural resources needed to expand the global green industry.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said: "The Democratic Republic of the Congo pavilion reflects the country's national priorities in various fields, which include the youth sector, innovation, business and the creative sector, and highlights the promising potential of the Congo River in terms of renewable energy."

He added, "Our relations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been constantly expanding over the years across various sectors, and we aim to explore possibilities of enhancing cooperation in areas of common interest, especially in the fields of industry, agriculture and renewable energy, in order to achieve mutual benefit and prosperity for our two countries."
