From September 8 to October 28, 2023, the Rugby World Cup will take place in France, and Lyon will be able to dance to the rhythm of the haka.

The New Zealand national team, the famous All Blacks, will establish their base camp at the Lou Rugby stadium.

The city will be able to find, 16 years later, a team that it has already hosted during the 2007 World Cup. The All Blacks had faced Portugal at the Gerland stadium.

Unlike in 2007, when Lyon only had three pool matches, Parc OL will host five pool matches this time, including the match between France and Italy.

New Zealand will play twice in Lyon against Italy (September 29) and Uruguay (October 5).
