Students’ families resort to answering the questions of the lessons scheduled for their children, explaining some curricula, and circulating them through the “groups” of social media platforms, especially during the exam period, as a contribution from them in helping students review their lessons before each exam, in order to face the curriculum pressure that resulted from reducing Weekly school days to four and a half days.

Teachers said that the parents' efforts to answer the questions of the courses are often incorrect, stressing that this method instills in the students dependence and lack of self-reliance.

In detail, "Emirates Today" monitored the exchange of students who answered questions of study materials, through social media platforms, including "Facebook", "WhatsApp" and "Telegram".

Kholoud Taha (the mother of a student) said that the pressure of study and the intensification of lessons, after the adoption of the new weekly holiday system, led many of the students' families to resort to social media "groups", in search of solving lessons, assignments and exams questions for their children.

She explained that many families do not want to resort to private lessons, because they represent an additional financial burden on their shoulders, considering that circulating answers to questions about materials through social media groups is the best solution for everyone to benefit.

Rima Al-Fouli (the mother of two students) stated that the student spends 10 hours a day in school and on two round trips, and is not able to review all the materials, adding that searching for answers to questions aims to relieve the student, in addition to the fact that most mothers are busy with their jobs and housework, and they have no time to help their children.

Othman Sanad (Talib’s father), said that he deals with the “group” of social media platforms, because some of the students’ families are teachers in schools, and sometimes interfere in modifying the answers transmitted by members of the “group”, calling on private schools to ease the curricula prescribed for students, after applying the curriculum. New order for the weekend.

While Walid Ahmed (the father of two students) stated that some in the “group” broadcast videos explaining the curricula, with the aim of helping students understand their lessons, which makes it easier for them to follow the explanation, pointing out that some of the information it contains appears to be different from what students receive from the teacher, which makes it easier for them to follow the explanation. It puts the student at a loss.

For his part, a teacher in a private school, Abdul Rahman Muhammad, confirmed that the students’ families, especially mothers, are suffering from the multiplicity of lessons scheduled for their children, and they tend to search for quick answers to the questions of lessons and assignments, through social media, and ignore the role of the teacher in the school.

He added that relying on social media “groups” exposes them to many mistakes, including different answers, and a lack of checking their sources, which causes confusion for the student, in addition to relying on these platforms instills in the student a lack of self-reliance in completing his duties, and may expose him to wrong answers. Correct, because the provider of the scientific article is not reliable.

He called on the students' parents to train their children to take responsibility, so that they would be able to face challenges, both during their studies and in their working lives later.

The teacher, Wafaa Al-Nadi, stated that the distinguished student will not resort to "Social Media" to search for answers to the questions of the lessons, and he always has the audacity to communicate with his teacher or mentor to inquire of him about anything he does not understand.

And she continued, "As for students with low level, they tend to pass the answers through (groups), because they do not want to stress themselves with research and study, and they rely on others to perform school assignments."

Match the answers

The teacher, Hasna Al-Khatib, said that she noticed that the answers of a number of students to the homework questions matched, whether in the correct or incorrect answers, which confirms that other people answered the questions on their behalf, and provided them with them without their interference, stressing that the method of transmitting the answers does not benefit the student, and it will not Contribute to improving his academic level.
