The first refugees who came to the municipality were about 30 people.

The refugees have been placed by the municipality in evacuation housing in the former nursing home Västerhäll in Tenhult

At a press conference on Wednesday, representatives of Jönköping Municipality said that the planning work is progressing and that they are cooperating with the Swedish Migration Board to be able to offer support to refugees in various forms such as schools and housing.

- We help the Swedish Migration Agency provide housing, and at the same time plan additional housing, says Stefan Österström, head of administration at the social administration.

Cooperation with private property owners

In addition to Tenhult, two other municipal premises have been selected, in Norrahammar and at Kålgården.

In total, there are almost 300 places, but the survey continues, even together with private landlords.
