Overseas Network, March 22. According to Taiwan's Zhongshi News Network, enoki mushrooms exported from Taiwan to the United States were found to be deadly bacteria by the California health department and were recovered.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) official website, the U.S. agricultural wholesaler (Jan Fruits Inc) is recalling all 200g/7.05oz packages of enoki mushrooms (products from Taiwan) because the product may be contaminated with Listeria.

The microbe can cause deadly infections in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

Even healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

Listeria can even cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

After collecting and analyzing retail samples, the California Department of Public Health found the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in a 7.05-ounce package.

As of now, although no related cases have been reported, distribution of the product has been suspended.

After the news was reported by Taiwan media, it caused heated discussions on the island.

Taiwanese netizens commented that the Taiwan authorities' inspection of foreign products is too contemptuous.

There are also netizens who ridiculed the Taiwan authorities, "It's better to buy it back, anyway, I have eaten all the pigs and nuclear food, and I'm afraid of Listeria." (Overseas Network Li Meng)
