The National Police has arrested this Wednesday a 19-year-old as the alleged perpetrator of the murder, last January, of the former socialist councilor of Granada
José Miguel Castillo Higueras
, who died after being beaten in a robbery with violence recorded in the center of the city.
According to sources from this armed body, agents from the Homicide group have arrested the young man around 10:00 am on Wednesday in the Granada neighborhood of
Realejo
.
The arrested man is a 19-year-old man of
Moroccan nationality
with a police record accused of the murder of Castillo Higueras.
The former councilor was beaten as part of a violent robbery, fell to the ground and died in a health center.
Castillo Higueras was a councilor of the Granada City Council for twelve years, between 1980 and 1992, responsible for the current protocol and calendar of local festivals and a promoter of traditions such as San Cecilio or La Tarasca.
