Sven Granath mainly sees three types of fatal school attacks.

All are very unusual in Sweden, but have occurred over the years, according to him.

- The first is what we call school attacks that we have seen from the USA where there is one or more people who attack the whole school and maybe even manifest against the whole society.

It is often quite spectacular deeds that may be filmed, where you put on special clothes and that can strike randomly at anyone at school, says Sven Granath.

- Then there is another type where it is about mental problems in a student who often experiences a conflict with another student or staff, who takes weapons and attacks this person.

"It is important that the signals are captured"

The third category is rooted in serious youth violence, linked to gangs or drugs, according to Sven Granath.

- In types one and two, there is a pattern.

It is about people who are alone and sent out signals that they have violent fantasies.

You have a fairly weak network and a growing mental illness.

There is often a trigger that triggered this when something went against one.

- It is important that the signals are picked up by people who are in the person's circle.
