The two police officers are charged with false identification, unlawful deprivation of liberty, assault, breach of the peace and data breach.

And on Tuesday, the trial began at Lund District Court, where the two police officers deny the accusations.

- My client denies the crime and has explained how he remembers the course of events, says Eleonora Johansson lawyer to one of the police.

Used pepper spray

It was during an operation in Landskrona last year that the police were called to an apartment building after a woman alerted the police that her husband was drunk and harassed the family.

After that, she fled with her children to the neighbor.

When the police arrive at the scene, they urge the man to open the front door and after a while a glass window is smashed - how and by whom it is unclear - and the police then use pepper spray through the broken window.

Then the surveillance film shows that they open the front door and enter the apartment.

Then you both see and hear the two policemen shouting at the man who comes back into the hall.

Then the police choose to use pepper spray on the man again.

During the trial, the prosecutor described what happened with the words "the police sprayed everything they had left".

Daughter came rushing in

During the arrest, the man was heard screaming after he was broken down by the two police officers.

At the same moment, his daughter comes running screaming "stop it is enough now" to the police.

After handcuffing the man, the police claimed that the man had threatened to kill them.

Something that is not included in the surveillance film.

The film, which the prosecutor played during the trial, is a heavy part of the evidence.

Because it gives a completely different picture of what happened than the police's story.

In the clip above, SVT's reporter Simon Melin talks about the film and interviews the police who conducted the criminal investigation.
