Alexeï Navalny tried on Monday in a double case which could cost him 13 years in prison.

The Russian opponent was found guilty in the morning of fraud and contempt of court.

"Navalny has committed a fraud, the theft of other people's property by an organized group", declared judge Margarita Kotova during the reading of her judgment.

“Navalny disrespected the court, insulting a judge,” she continued a few minutes later.

In the scam case, investigators accuse him of embezzling millions of rubles in donations to his anti-corruption organizations and of “contempt of court” during one of his previous hearings. With regard to contempt, Alexeï Navalny was accused of having insulted a magistrate during a previous trial.
