The end of the obligation to wear a mask is approved by a majority of French people, but many of them continue to wear it at work or in stores, according to a poll published on Tuesday March 22.

A large majority of French people say they continue to wear it in stores, despite the lifting of the obligation.

Since March 14, the mask is no longer compulsory in France in the majority of closed places, except for health establishments (retirement homes, nursing homes) and transport.

According to a survey for the online media, YouGov, 53% of those questioned agree with the lifting of the wearing of the compulsory mask against the coronavirus.

The French are 66% in schools to approve the lifting of this obligation in schools, while they are a little less in companies (57%) and even less in stores, with "only" 46% for and 53 % vs.

75% say they continue to wear it in stores

However, 68% of them say they continue to wear a mask at work, including 36% all the time, among the only working people, i.e. a sample of just over 500 people, while the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne lifted the company protocol.

The survey was conducted online from March 18 to 21 with a sample of 1,042 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over.
