It was on Sunday evening that the woman was arrested in her home in central Umeå, after a boy under the age of 10 was found seriously injured some distance from the home.
The woman is suspected of attempted murder of the child.
A short initial interrogation has been held with the woman and on Tuesday the plan was to hear her again with her defender.
But that interrogation could not be carried out.
- I have only heard that there have been difficulties in conducting the interrogation with defense counsel based on her condition, so we have said that we will wait until she feels better, says prosecutor Linnea Hedström.
Life-threatening injuries
The boy is now being cared for in the intensive care unit with life-threatening injuries and has also not been able to be heard.
Instead, they are now trying to map the course of events with the help of witness interviews and the results of the technical investigation.
No later than Thursday at 12 noon, the prosecutor must decide whether the woman should be requested to be detained or set free.
