The Government grants the Swedish Fortifications Agency to invest up to SEK 115 million in the Göta Engineering Regiment, Ing 2, in Eksjö.

The money will go to a new construction of a training facility.

Among other things, a workshop, classrooms, office spaces and outdoor ranges will be built here.

In addition, an existing fuel storage will be moved.

Today's premises for training in technical service need to be developed due to the increased amount of special systems for field work units and other technically qualified equipment.

There is also no space indoors with lifting capacity at the required height or weight for the business equipment.

Increased capacity requirements

The purpose of the facility is to improve the Armed Forces' conditions in Eksjö and to meet the increased need for capacity that has arisen as a result of the Riksdag's decision on the total defense for the years 2021–2025.

In the clip below about the increased interest in the defense and how the regiment will be strengthened.
