On March 21, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian jointly attended the opening ceremony of Kosma China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh.
Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for helping Cambodia build a modern medical building. Medical staff should continue to improve their medical level, management ability and professional ethics, and make good use, management and operation of the hospital to ensure the health and well-being of the people.
Wang Wentian said that the expanded Cosma Hospital has also set up a department of traditional Chinese medicine, and the Chinese national-level TCM medical expert group is responsible for technical guidance and preparatory work.
Hun Sen specially visited the newly established Chinese Medicine Department of Kosma Hospital, and expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the 12 Chinese medicine experts who aided Cambodia in fighting the epidemic.
Prime Minister Hun Sen listened to the experts' explanations on Chinese medicine's anti-epidemic, disease diagnosis and treatment, as well as acupuncture, massage, scraping and other treatment methods, and tried the intelligent translation robot specially equipped to facilitate Cambodian patients to seek medical treatment.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Di Ban, Hor Namhong, Mae Senan, Yin Caili, Gai Jinyan, Minister of Health Man Benheng, and Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Wu Guoquan attended the ceremony.
The Cosma China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital project was constructed with assistance from the Chinese government. The project was undertaken by China State Construction Engineering. Construction began in October 2018 and will be completed in December 2021.
