is a video captured on CCTV of a company near the crash site.

The airliner falls almost vertically.

Witnesses say they heard an explosion accompanied by a roar.

[Mr. Meng / Witness of the crash: I heard a pop.

It sounded like an explosion.

An engine roar was heard and the plane fell vertically.]

Yesterday afternoon, a Boeing 737 operated by China Eastern Airlines on its way to Guangzhou from Kunming in southern China suffered an accident when it began to lower its altitude about 40 minutes before landing.

China's aviation authorities said the plane's altitude fell 8,000 meters in two minutes.

Several possibilities are being raised, such as aircraft defects and turbulence, but the exact cause of the accident is expected to be identified only when the black box is recovered.

[Yanan Wang / Editor-in-Chief of China Aerospace Magazine: Such an altitude dive is very abnormal.

It seems that the plane lost power and the pilot lost control at the same time.] At

the crash site, fragments of the plane and some belongings of the passengers such as identification cards and wallets with signs of burn were found, but no survivors have been found yet.

It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the access road to the mountain road is narrow, making it difficult to search.

All 132 people on board, including 123 passengers, were reported to be Chinese.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said he was shocked by the accident and ordered prompt rescue and investigation of the cause.
