A woman in her forties will be tried for murder from this Tuesday before the Assize Court of Ille-et-Vilaine in Rennes.

Of Brazilian origin, she is accused of having killed her husband with several stab wounds.

The facts took place on September 12, 2018 in the pavilion occupied by the couple in Noyal-Châtillon-sur-Seiche, a town located south of Rennes.

On the evening of the tragedy, the accused would have gone to one of her sons, born of a previous union, before returning to her home to alert the emergency services.

Slightly injured, she had been hospitalized overnight.

She then mentioned the intervention of an outside aggressor before being placed in police custody the next morning "due to contradictions and inconsistencies noted in her first statements", according to the press release from the prosecution at the time.

The couple were in the process of separating

Led by the gendarmes to the scene of the tragedy, she finally confessed, admitting to having stabbed her husband, a 53-year-old worker, after an altercation.

The couple were in the process of separating.

Aged 8 at the time of the events, their child had been taken into care by social services.

The verdict is expected Friday.
