Ireland's ambassador to the UAE, Aidan Cronin, affirmed that his country has distinguished trade relations with the UAE, noting that there are four Irish government agencies in the UAE market, namely, the Tourism and Food Board, the Irish government agency dedicated to trade and innovation, and the Foreign Direct Investment Agency. It highlights the importance of these relationships.

Cronin added to "Emirates Today", "For us, the food and agricultural sectors, pharmaceuticals, information technology and software are the main areas, and the volume of trade exchange between Ireland and the UAE is witnessing a continuous rise and going in the right direction, and the "Covid-19" pandemic has had an impact. The Irish ambassador stated that notable events and important meetings were organized during the "Dubai Expo", including the "Irish Business Network", an active and dynamic trade organization that supports Irish companies and professionals residing in Dubai.

He continued, "The Foreign Direct Investment Agency in Ireland focuses, through its work in the UAE market, on attracting investment, facilitating procedures, and also presenting potential opportunities, especially in vital sectors. We see that everything is going in the right direction.”

He stressed that "the commercial missions to the UAE in conjunction with (Expo Dubai) are part of our openness, and the restoration of Ireland's communication with friends here in the region."

He noted that the St. Patrick's Festival, which was recently organized at the Dubai Expo, witnessed many events and activities aimed at promoting Ireland at various levels.

"Ireland has a long track record of attracting many large multinational companies from the United States of America, and we have really succeeded in attracting these companies that have retained their presence in our market," he added.
