The judgment gives the complainants the right and the decision of the City Council is therefore revoked.

There are three opposition politicians who appealed the City Council's decision in July last year to sell a 15-hectare land for SEK 1 to Arcic Sustainability Group AB (ASG).

Land that is currently leased out as agricultural land.

The Administrative Court considers that the investigation in the case shows that the commitments that the municipality promised to make entailed individually directed support to ASG.

It has not been shown that there are special reasons for accepting the aid anyway.

Thus, the City Council's decision is contrary to the Local Government Act and must therefore be repealed.

"Nothing against a fish farm"

- We do not mind a fish farm, but this must not happen, says Stefan Valtentin Larsson (M), one of those who appealed the City Council's decision.

He did it together with two other opposition politicians in the municipality, Monica Ståhl (KD) and Juhani Verkkoperä (SD) who are happy today.

- A very good verdict.

We have received a receipt that we are right in substance.

Here, the municipality tried to sell land cheaply and also make several investments without requiring repayment.

This had cost the municipality too much and it was a scheme we could not accept, says Juhani Verkkoperä.

Municipal councilor Hans Jildesten (S) has declined to comment on today's ruling.
