The reporter learned from the China Wills and Wills Bank today (21st) that the 2021 China Wills and Wills Bank white paper was released, and the analysis and comparison of more than 220,000 wills that have been stored in different dimensions found that in the past 9 years, the average age of the testamentary population has gradually increased from 77.43 years old. dropped to 68.59 years.

The white paper published the will data of "post-00s" for the first time.

The data shows that among the testamentary population from 2020 to 2021, there are a total of 223 "post-00s" people, an increase of 14.42% in the past year.

According to the analysis, the main property disposed of by the "post-00s" people in their wills is "bank deposits" and "virtual property".

By the end of 2021, the total number of "post-90s" wills will reach 1,204.

Compared with last year, it has increased by 80%.

The number of "post-90s" making wills shows a steady upward trend every year, indicating that making wills is no longer a "patent" for a certain age group.

The main reason for the attention of "post-90s" wills is that the types of property in their wills are more diverse and rich.

Compared with the "post-00s", the wills of the "post-90s" involved more real estate, with 71.64% involving real estate.

It is understood that among this group of people, it is common for parents to buy a house in the name of their children. In addition to real estate, parents also choose to put their equity in the name of their children.

Different from other age groups, the wills of "post-00s" and "post-90s" are more rich in property handling, and the inclusion and arrangement of "virtual property" has become a prominent feature: Alipay, WeChat, QQ, game accounts, etc." "Virtual property" is a common type of property in wills of "post-00s" and "post-90s".

There are many reasons why young people make wills. According to statistics, more than half of them think: "It's impossible to determine which will come first tomorrow or the accident. It would be a pity to leave without saying anything."

As of December 31, 2021, there were a total of 1,986 "post-80s" people who made wills in the China Wills and Wills Bank.

According to statistics, the number of wills kept by the "post-80s" has risen from 73 in 2017 to 982 in 2021, an increase of nearly 13 times in five years.

From the data point of view, the property of the "post-80s" is dominated by real estate, followed by deposits.

Among the wills of the "post-80s", 97.67% involve real estate.

It is understood that more than half of this group of people bought a house through their own efforts and the other half, and some of them bought a house with the help of their parents.

In addition, the survey found that the "post-80s" people are very knowledgeable about investing, with 13.18% of wills involving company equity and 14.13% of wills involving securities funds, far exceeding those of other age groups.

Through analysis, it was found that among the people who made a will in the "post-80s", most of them have no disputes within the family and they are in good health. Most of the wills are made in the hope of "preparing for a rainy day", "avoiding the whereabouts of property unknown" and "taking care of the family".

Data from the white paper shows that in 2021, the marital status of those who will make a will is mainly married, accounting for 70.7%.

The proportion of unmarried, remarried and divorced among young and middle-aged testamentary groups is much higher than that of people over 60 years old.

The proportion of remarried people has shown a slight upward trend in the past five years, from 8.24% to 10.46%; the proportion of divorced people has an obvious upward trend year by year, from 7.53% to 11.82%.

Whether the will is in the treasury can be checked online for free from now on

After the testator's death, if his family does not know the existence of the will, or the judicial authority does not find the will, the division of the estate may go against the will of the testator.

In order to avoid this phenomenon, from March 21, 2022, China Wills and Wills Bank officially launched the free service of "Online Wills Inquiry" to the society.

It is reported that the online inquiry system will gradually replace the traditional offline inquiry service in the past.

Before going through the formalities of viewing or extracting the original wills in the China Wills and Testament Database, a pre-procedure must be completed: "pre-inquiry".

"Pre-inquiry" means that the applicant can apply to the China Wills and Wills Bank to check whether the decedent left a will before his or her life with his ID card and the deceased's death certificate.

If the decedent left a will before his death, the system will show whether the applicant is eligible to view or extract the original will.

The "Online Will Inquiry" service can provide inquiry services for the testator himself, heirs, court, notary office, housing management department and other units.

China Wills Database is a public welfare project co-sponsored by China Ageing Development Foundation and Beijing Sunshine Ageing Health Foundation on March 21, 2013.

Eligible seniors can not only enjoy free will consultation, will registration, will storage and other services, but also each stored will can be recorded through free audio and video, face recognition, fingerprint archiving, secret room registration, professional witness, Confidential custody, judicial filing and other procedures to ensure the validity of the will.

Since its inception nine years ago, China Wills and Testaments Bank has set up more than 60 service centers across the country.

As of the end of 2021, the China Wills and Wills Bank has provided nearly 315,000 wills consultations to the society, and has registered and kept more than 220,000 wills, with a total of 4,707 wills in effect.
