An investigation was opened on Saturday in Quimper (Finistère), after an accident between a pedestrian and a car.

An 81-year-old man was hit on boulevard Flandres-Dunkerque by a motorist who then fled, reports

The victim had just walked out of the hospital when she was knocked down.

The octogenarian was taken care of by the emergency services, who found his condition worrying.

He was airlifted in serious condition to hospital in Brest.

CCTV footage

Investigations are underway to identify the car and find the driver.

Investigators will rely in particular on images from CCTV cameras.

In October, in Quimper, a 28-year-old student who had just gotten off a bus was knocked down by a car and dragged for more than a kilometer.

The 78-year-old driver admitted hitting something, but thought it was an animal.
