China News Agency, San Francisco, March 20. US police said on the 20th that in the early morning of that day, a shooting occurred in the parking lot outside a birthday party in Houston, Texas, resulting in one death and three injuries among teenagers.

  According to a press release issued by the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Texas, officers from the agency were dispatched to the Dream Light Productions studio in Houston at around 0:00 on the 20th to deal with a shooting incident.

Police found three 17-year-old African-American men and a 14-year-old African-American woman shot at the scene. One man was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the other man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

A lightly wounded man has been arrested by police on charges of "aggravated robbery" unrelated to the shooting, while a woman is being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening trauma.

  Investigators learned that a birthday party for a 16-year-old woman was being held at the studio that night, the release said.

Several people clashed in the parking lot, after which multiple suspects shot at each other.

Police found a large number of shell casings in various areas of the parking lot.

Local media KHOU quoted Harris County Sheriff's Office officials as saying that between 75 and 100 people may have been involved in clashes in the parking lot when the shooting began.

  Investigators have not yet identified any suspects or the cause of the conflict.
