The Director of the International Astronomy Center, Engineer Muhammad Shawkat Odeh, confirmed that the month of Sha'ban began on Friday, the fourth of March, in most Islamic countries.

Accordingly, the investigation of the crescent of the month of Ramadan will be on Friday, Sha’ban 29, corresponding to the first of April, noting that “seeing the crescent next Friday is not possible with the naked eye from anywhere in the Islamic world, while it is possible using a telescope only, and with great difficulty, from Simple ends of the western African continent, and possible with the naked eye with great difficulty in parts of the American continents.

Also, seeing it, on that day, using astronomical imaging technology is possible, with great difficulty, only in the case of complete purity of the atmosphere.”

Odeh explained that there is a possibility to see the crescent with a telescope from parts of the Islamic world on Friday.

Since the pairing occurs before sunset and the moon sets after sunset in all regions of the Islamic world, it is customary in such circumstances that most countries of the Islamic world announce the start of the month of Ramadan on the next day, which is Saturday, the second of April, and its waiting period will be 30 days.

And he said: “For countries that require correct vision with the naked eye only, or require correct local vision, and they are few countries, it is expected that the blessed month of Ramadan will begin on Sunday, the third of April, and in some of them it will be 29 days, and in others 30 days.” .
