Private schools in Abu Dhabi have informed that the spring vacation for students will extend from March 26 to April 10, noting that according to the school calendar approved by the Department of Education and Knowledge, the last day of the second semester will be Friday, March 25, provided that studies will resume at the beginning of the semester. The third is on Monday, April 11.

The schools indicated that returning to attendance education in the third semester will require students to perform a PCR examination and obtain a negative result that has not been 96 hours, noting that the Department of Education and Knowledge issued a policy of reduced precautionary measures in which distancing and masks became optional in outdoor spaces, while Social distancing within the classrooms remains in place.

The schools expected that the near future would witness the abolition of the need for social separation in the classroom, which would allow schools to receive all students within the attendance education model throughout the week, noting its work with the competent authorities for the full return of students and full-time study.

The schools indicated that they are still waiting to receive a notification from the department regarding the start and end dates of the school day during the holy month of Ramadan so that they can plan the daily school schedule, adding that the number of hours of the school day will be reduced during Ramadan, which will result in a reduction in the time of classes.

For its part, the department announced that the number of vaccinated students in Abu Dhabi private schools and partnership schools reached 121,394 students, 44% of the total students registered in schools, while the number of vaccinated teachers and employees reached 37,299 people, which constitutes 97% of teachers and staff. The department has set four levels to classify schools according to the "blue schools initiative" by distinguishing them with four colors (orange, yellow, green and blue), based on vaccination. The percentage in it ranged between 50 and 64%, the “green” level for schools where the vaccination rate ranged between 65 and 84%, and the “blue” level for schools where the vaccination rate reached 85% or above.

The platform of the blue schools initiative "Together we will return to normal life", launched by the department, showed a decrease in the percentage of schools that are still within the orange color range to 64.8% of the total schools in the emirate, while the schools that obtained the yellow color amounted to 19.8%, and the percentage of green schools increased to 10.6 The percentage of blue mark schools increased to 4.8% of the emirate's total schools.
