Ukraine announces the killing of a senior commander of the Russian Navy

Mikhail Razvogayev, Governor of Sevastopol, announced on Sunday the killing of a senior commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine.

Razvogayev said on the Telegram application that Captain Andrei Pale, deputy commander of the fleet, had died during the fighting in the eastern port city of Mariupol.

The Russian Navy did not respond to a request for comment.

Sevastopol, a major base for Russia's Black Sea Fleet, is located in Crimea, which Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
