On this occasion, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Head of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, stressed that caring for all members of society and developing their lifestyles contributes to improving the quality of life and achieving well-being and happiness, noting that happiness should be taken into account as one of the main factors for the well-being of society. The happiness and well-being index is one of the most important indicators of quality of life, which includes two basic criteria, namely, life satisfaction and happiness.

The results showed an increase in the happiness index by 7.8%, from 7.17 to 7.727 points out of 10, and the life satisfaction index increased by 6.68%, from 6.68 to 7.1258 points, while the work-life balance index (satisfied and very satisfied) recorded an increase of up to To 16%, from 36.6% to 52.6%, and the general satisfaction index with living in Abu Dhabi (satisfied and very satisfied) increased from 67.9% to 69.8%, and the index of satisfaction with current housing income increased from 33% to 38.5%.

He added that the UAE and its wise leadership are working to consolidate the concept of happiness and social well-being for all citizens and residents on its land, as the country has succeeded in being among the most prominent countries in the world in achieving the highest levels of satisfaction and happiness, noting that the Department of Community Development is keen to conduct periodic surveys and annual questionnaires aimed at To identify the needs and aspirations of the community to work on promoting the development process, in line with the vision of the department aimed at achieving a decent life for all members of the community.

The UAE maintained its first place in the Arab world for the seventh year in a row in the World Happiness Report for 2021. It also continued its progress globally, outperforming many developed countries and economies, according to the global report issued annually by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

He noted that the UAE has made great efforts to enhance the happiness of community members by upgrading the services provided that include several key sectors, including education and health, in addition to the availability of strong infrastructure capable of providing more for the prosperity of life in the Emirates.

The head of the Department of Community Development stressed that the high indicators of happiness and quality of life clearly indicate the department's interest in improving the quality of life of community members in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with government directives on increasing the rates of happiness and satisfaction of citizens and residents about living and life in the emirate, and providing a decent standard of living.
