The decision was made through a vote at the party's annual meeting on Saturday, where Ola Claesson, chairman of the association Folkets hus, won over Patrik Sjöstedt, chairman of the culture and leisure committee, with the numbers 32-8.

- It feels very good.

My focus going forward is above all on us winning the upcoming election, but also on continuing with the work for a strongly united party, says Ola Claesson.

Former chairman Yvonne Andréasson took over the post from Jan Björkman in August 2020, but chose not to stand for re-election.

- My ambition was never to sit for long, and it is quite tiring to sit as chairman.

I feel that it is better for new forces to take over before the election, says Yvonne Andréasson, who, however, remains on the board.
