An investigation for "attempted murder" was opened by the Lyon prosecutor's office after a series of gunshots on Saturday evening in the La Duchère district, he said on Sunday.

The facts occurred around 9:15 p.m. at a “deal point” in rue Andreï Sakharov, located in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon.

The 16-year-old, the most seriously injured, was "transported to the hospital in shock, without vital prognosis", specifies the prosecution adding that "Seventeen Kalashnikov casings and a grenade pin" were found on the places where calm had been observed since the facts.

The investigators, on the other hand, have “no details at this time as to the perpetrators or even as to the mode of operation”, concluded the prosecution.

On October 25, in the same neighborhood, three police officers from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) were shot in a place known as a deal point.

The shooting had led to a security operation on the spot the day after the events.
